Mammography is not the same at Saint Mary’s. All of our screening mammography patients receive a digital mammogram plus a NCI Breast Cancer Risk Assessment along with their mammogram. Hence the name — MammoPlus. Nowhere else in the region can a patient know their lifetime risk for developing breast cancer as part of their mammogram service.
This is an important part of Saint Mary’s efforts to understand exactly what women in our screening pool are at risk. This helps us protect you. With the knowledge that a woman is at risk, we can provide custom monitoring of your breast health in addition to monitoring strategies to reduce your risk, and plan for the best technology and treatments... should your risk turn into reality.
